I understand that some members of the Green Corridor have objected
to the environmental caretakers undertaking the task of painting
the railings at Thomas Street.
If this job has now been cancelled, Bloomers will need to inform
Thomas Street residents as soon as possible that the environmental
caretakers can no longer undertake this task, and that this particular
job will need to be deferred until such time as Bloomers has the
voluntary manpower to complete the task ourselves.
In light of the above, could the Green Corridor take steps to issue
much clearer guidelines on exactly what tasks can or can't be undertaken
by the environmental caretakers on behalf of the community, in order
to prevent similar situations arising in future?
As the Thomas Street job has already been started, and half of
the railings have now been painted by the caretakers, we need urgent
clarification regarding this specific task.
